You Don’t Have to be a Skier to Learn from the Ski Lift Pitch

Entrepreneurs and investors come together on February 5 and 6 in Taos during the Ski Lift Pitch, a pitchfest event designed to introduce New Mexico high-growth startups to equity investors. Pitch companies were selected in early January from submitted applications, but startup founders are encouraged to attend as observers to learn what goes into a successful pitch.

Event organizers put it this way:

“Entrepreneurs and investors alike are all-too-familiar with a typical elevator pitch. We think New Mexico is known more for its elevations than its elevators. Ski Lift Pitch brings New Mexico’s best startups and world-class VC funds together for a special event. And no, there are no elevators involved. Not the usual kind, anyway.”

Pitches are made to investors while they ride the chair lift together. Later in the base lodge and after all pitches are heard, investors discuss what they like about the pitches, providing a learning (and fun) opportunity for start-up and small business owners seeking capital for their ventures.
