Learn marketing strategy and explore marketing tools such as branding, websites, and e-commerce at a once-per-month workshop series offered in Santa Fe by the business development organization WESST. The series aims to give small business owners practical tools to increase visibility, attract customers, and support business growth. The series runs throughout 2026, with the upcoming April 29 session exploring ways customers find businesses.
Customers rarely find a business through just one channel. The April 29, 2026, session explores the many ways potential customers discover a business, whether through word of mouth, online searches, social media, or community connections. Workshop participants will learn how people move through different paths before reaching out to a business and will identify simple opportunities to increase their visibility and make it easier for customers to find them.
The April 29 event is one in a series of workshops that aim to demystify marketing and help business owners determine which tools are best for their business. Other dates and topics include:
- 5/27/26 – Your Website and Why it Matters
- 6/24/26 – SEO Basics and How Search is Changing
- 7/29/26 – Social Media Made Simple
- 8/26/26 – How Video Helps Build Trust
Website and e-commerce topics are expected to be added to the line-up in the fall and winter, and those sessions will be announced at a later date.
Most WESST workshops and trainings take place online, but the Marketing Essentials series is being held in person at the Santa Fe Business Incubator on the last Wednesday of each month, with flexibility during the fall and winter holidays. The sessions, which are led by marketing professionals with real-world experience, run from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The series is sponsored by the City of Santa Fe Office of Economic Development in partnership with NMSU-Arrowhead Center.
