The nonprofit lender DreamSpring maintains a running list of business grants and other opportunities that small businesses can tap into. A quick perusal of the current list indicates grants from $5,000 to $20,000. Learning opportunities and money-saving resources are also listed.
For example, the Intuit QuickBooks Small Business Hero program encourages everyone to nominate a “small business hero” to receive a $20,000 grant. QuickBooks is a small business accounting software program that has become essential for small enterprises. Its Small Business Hero program is a year-long initiative designed to celebrate and empower small businesses that invigorate and serve their communities. It spotlights entrepreneurs who demonstrate courage, perseverance, and integrity. Three remarkable businesses receive a $20,000 grant along with additional resources to elevate their business presence and continue their success.each quarter.
Another grant program is offered by the Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM). Its Business UpLift program helps New Mexico small businesses reduce operating costs through energy efficiency upgrades. Selected businesses receive targeted support to lower utility bills and improve their facilities. Rebates are the financial incentive.
The DreamSpring list also highlights targeted loan programs. Whole Foods Market’s Local Producer Loan Program offers up to $100,000 in loan capital to help emerging food and beverage producers scale their operations. Funds are earmarked for capital expenditures like purchasing new equipment or securing agricultural infrastructure. The application process is minimal and remains open on an ongoing basis.
These are just a few of the business opportunities listed. And thanks to DreamSpring, the list is updated about once a month, providing links to timely business grants and resources.
