Roadshows Prep Businesses for International Travelers

The New Mexico Tourism Department is hosting a series of “roadshows” to help tourism businesses understand how to work with international tour operators and grow their business through the global travel trade. The events will be held in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Las Cruces from April 7 to April 9, 2026, in conjunction with the tourism authorities of the three cities.

Dubbed New Mexico Steps to Success™ Roadshow, the events kick off with an optional virtual session on March 31, which will introduce participants to the international inbound travel market and prepare them for the in-person training. The virtual session will cover how the international travel trade works and how businesses may fit into the marketplace. It will also preview what to expect during the Steps to Success™ program. Register for the online event here.

The in-person roadshow events will take place in Albuquerque on April 7, Santa Fe on April 8, and Las Cruces on April 9. Locations will be shared after registration or on a date closer to the events. The virtual session and roadshows are free, but early registration is suggested because space is limited.

According to the New Mexico Tourism Department, international travelers tend to stay longer and spend up to five times more than domestic visitors to the state. Don’t miss this opportunity to expand business through the international travel market. Register for an in-person session here.

The New Mexico Tourism Department and the New Mexico Economic Development Department work to support New Mexico’s small businesses by offering educational programs, grants, loans, financial programs, and other assistance.
