Several nonprofit small business lenders are hosting events to introduce themselves and their clients to small businesses and communities in New Mexico who may not be aware of the loans and services they provide.
Dec. 12 in Albuquerque’s Sawmill District
DreamSpring, the nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution that offers small business loans in 27 U.S. states, is hosting an open house at its Albuquerque headquarters from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025.
The event is a celebration of New Mexico’s small business community and the legacy of leadership of DreamSpring Founder and Strategic Advisor Anne Haines, who is retiring this month after 32 years of service.
The open house is free and open to the public. Attendees will meet and sample the tasty offerings of local entrepreneurs, connect with DreamSpring staff and board members, and learn more about the DreamUp Fund, which provides financial education and affordable capital to small business owners across the region.

Another nonprofit lender, The Loan Fund, also has a new website to help small businesses obtain a loan, get technical assistance, and get #LoanReady. Its new #LoanReady Campaign aims to help business owners navigate the loan application process, prepare a strong application, and move confidently toward growth.
The Loan Fund’s #LoanReady page offers links and downloads of checklists to use when assessing whether a business owner is ready to submit a loan application. It includes educational videos and downloadable handouts to help with creating sales forecasts to support loan requests, inventory worksheets that can help with collateral, and a self-assessment that provides confidence when a business owner applies for a loan. Its loan calculator extends the self-assessment analysis to include understanding how a loan will be repaid.
Information is added to the page as it is released through social media.
