JTIP is one of the most popular incentive programs in New Mexico. It pays for classroom and on-the-job training for newly-created jobs in expanding or relocating businesses for up to six months. The program reimburses 40 to 75 percent of employee wages.
The City of Las Cruces’ incentive, Wage +, put into effect July 1, 2013, provides a per job reimbursement for JTIP qualifying businesses that hire and train new employees for jobs that pay a certain percent more than the county median wage.
Companies interested in JTIP funding must apply before their newly-created jobs are filled. The program does not apply to existing jobs.
