The New Mexico Finance Authority, which manages the state’s LEDA pandemic grant program, is accepting applications under a second round of funding. The first-round application period was widely publicized to end on June 15, 2021. A second-round application period opened as soon as the first round closed. The deadline for application acceptance in the second round is slated for June 30 at 12:00 noon, and additional rounds may be added if funding is available.

LEDA Grant Program Now Open
The LEDA Recovery Grant Program was created by the State of New Mexico in the 2021 Legislative Session by House Bill 11 to provide $200 million in grant funding to New Mexico small businesses and nonprofit organizations that are experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic. Applications will be accepted until June 15, 2021.

The U.S. Small Business Administration has released more information about the rules that will govern the $28.6 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) grant program that will open on May 3. The RRF will provide grants of $1,000 to $5 million per location to restaurants, bars, pubs, food carts, caterers, and other restaurant-related businesses that have lost revenue due to the pandemic.

The NM Finance Authority has announced guidelines pertaining to the Small Business CARES Act grant program that was authorized by the New Mexico Legislature during the second special session of 2020. The guidelines make clear that time is of the essence. Applications will only be accepted until 12:00 noon MST Friday, Dec. 18. The Finance Authority anticipates opening the application process the week of Dec. 7, giving it just 11 days to allocate the entire $100 million fund.
