Grants for Tribal Businesses

The Regional Development Corporation is offering grants of up to $8,000 to businesses that are 51 percent or more owned by a Northern New Mexico tribal member to grow, diversify revenue, leverage other investments, create new jobs, and put systems in place that lead to growth.

Tiwa Kitchen Restaurant & Bakery received a Tribal Economic Diversity Fund grant in 2021.

RDC’s Tribal Economic Diversity Fund awards businesses owned by a federally recognized Indian tribe within its service area or by an enrolled member from the Pueblos of Cochiti, Jemez, Nambe, Ohkay, Picuris, Pojoaque, San Ildefonso, Santa Clara, Taos, or Tesuque. Businesses must be at least 6 months old and headquartered in one of the counties served by the RDC, which include Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, or Taos.

Funds are provided for critical technical services and equipment, and awards are made on a competitive basis. Awards range from $1,000 to $8,000.

Application instructions are available for download on July 15, and the deadline to apply is August 15, 2022. Application and all criteria can be found on the RDC website.
