Tribal Grant and TEAM Fund Open Applications

The Regional Development Corporation has begun accepting applications for its Tribal Grant Program and its TEAM Fund. The Tribal Grant offers up to $5,000 to eligible businesses owned by an enrolled member of a Northern New Mexico tribe, while the TEAM Fund offers no-interest loans of up to $20,000 to Northern New Mexico manufacturing and technology companies.

Both programs are made available annually to businesses in the area served by the Regional Development Corporation (RDC), which includes the New Mexico counties of Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Northern Sandoval, Santa Fe, and Taos.

The Tribal Grant Program awards businesses owned by a federally recognized Indian tribe or by an enrolled member(s) of a federally recognized Indian tribe for critical technical services and equipment. Awards are made on a competitive basis and are intended to provide services to tribal business entities that diversify revenue, leverage other investments, create new jobs and/or put systems in place that lead to growth. Grants must be used within 6 months of award. All of the criteria and eligibility requirements, along with a taped webinar, can be found on the Tribal Grant page of the RDC website.

The TEAM Fund, whose acronym derives from the words Technology and Manufacturing, offers no-interest loans to manufacturing and technology-based companies in the RDC service area. The fund supports growth-oriented companies that are on track to add jobs, grow revenues, and attract additional funding/investment. Businesses must be at least one year old as of March 5, 2026, and have a business license, a New Mexico CRS number, a Federal FEIN number, and a bank account dedicated solely to the business. The RDC defines technology as innovation, and it is not in reference to a business that uses technology or provides a non-proprietary technology, such as web development. Criteria and requirements are on the RDC TEAM Fund web page.

The RDC will accept applications to both programs until April 10, 2026. Both programs are sponsored and funded by Triad National Security, the operator of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), and other economic development organizations. Find more LANL programs here.
