Northern New Mexico businesses that have an immediate need for money to diversify, sustain or grow revenue, leverage other investments, and/or put systems in place that will lead to growth and create job opportunities have until May 1 at 5:00 pm to submit an application for a grant of $500 to $2,000 from the Regional Development Corporation (RDC). Grants are made on a competitive basis to businesses in RDC’s service area, which is defined as the counties of Santa Fe, Sandoval, San Miguel, Mora, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and Taos.
Micro-grants assist companies that may not be eligible for other types of funding or are not aware of other funding sources, and the money can be used to pay for growth expenses or purchases such as specialized software, consulting, or equipment. Funds may not be used to pay for general operating expenses such as rent, utilities, inventory, insurance, or salaries.
Eligible businesses must be for-profit entities with a business license, business bank account, and a New Mexico Combined Reporting System (CRS) number. They must be headquartered within the seven-county area served by the RDC, and they must have been in business at least six months prior to submitting an application. Businesses that meet eligibility criteria must also have a specific project in mind with well-defined goals, tasks, and purchases that can be completed within six months from the date of award/contract.
Applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm on May 1, 2021. Read all of the guidelines and apply on the RDC website.
