Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates entrepreneurship during the second week of November — from November 14 through 20 in 2022. Started in the U.S. and U.K. by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in 2008, GEW has grown to be a truly global endeavor with events taking place in more than 165 countries — including here in New Mexico.
GEW events in New Mexico vary widely, from workshops and networking events to industry briefings. Many focus squarely on assisting entrepreneurs with getting their ideas or products into the marketplace.
Startup Fiesta, organized by ActivateNM, calls itself “a pop-up gathering for New Mexico’s entrepreneurs, small businesses, hackers, hustlers, designers, and innovators to meet and inspire each other.” Organizers are inviting participants to showcase their successes, swap ideas, and mingle with peers and talent. The event, which includes fifteen micro-pitches (60-seconds or less) and a presentation by the founder of Build With Robots, takes place Thursday, Nov. 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at CNM Ingenuity’s STEMulus Center at 20 First Plaza in Albuquerque.
GEW in Santa Fe is organized by the City of Santa Fe’s economic development department and includes participation by SCORE, WESST, Creative Santa Fe, and other business support and civic organizations. Find all Santa Fe GEW events here.
GEW events are also taking place in Las Cruces, Farmington, and Rio Rancho. All events are listed on the Global Entrepreneurship Network website, where visitors can search for New Mexico events.
