The business development organization WESST is collaborating with New Mexico Manufacturing Extension Partnership (New Mexico MEP) to offer two events specifically geared for female business owners and women entrepreneurs. Visit WESST on October 25 to hear from three extraordinary women about how they built their businesses, and join the Women in Manufacturing Panel Discussion online on October 30 to learn about resources for women entrepreneurs. Both events are part of Manufacturing Day activities in New Mexico.
The October 25 event takes place at the WESST Enterprise Center in Albuquerque, where the nonprofit organization supports entrepreneurs at its business incubator. Hear from three female entrepreneurs and tour their facilities at the incubator from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Amanda Powers launched Enchanted Farms Mushrooms to provide locally-grown, high-quality gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. Chief Scientific Officer Janeth Pena leads Sandia BioTech’s research team in its mission to deliver powerful fluorescence technology that drives research and diagnostics to detect cancer. Veronica Fuller, owner of Sandia Pet Products, has taken her company well beyond leashes and pet products and into contract sewing for multiple clients. All three will discuss their experiences with starting and building a business.
Register here for the October 25 WESST Enterprise Center event.
And then, on October 30 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, join WESST and New Mexico MEP online for a panel discussion featuring resources available to women entrepreneurs. Panelists include representatives from WESST, New Mexico MEP, New Mexico OSHA, the NMSBA program, and business owners who will discuss what did – and did not – work for them.
