Arrowhead Center at New Mexico State University is hosting an accelerator program for individuals and businesses interested in pursuing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants from the National Science Foundation. SBIR/STTR programs offer grants for scientific discoveries that can be transformed into products and services that have commercial potential and/or societal benefit.
While eleven federal agencies participate in the SBIR program, and 5 of those agencies participate in the STTR program, this 12-week accelerator is focused on SBIR/STTR grants available from just one agency: the National Science Foundation. The agency-specific accelerator, which is aligned with the NSF proposal deadline, is open to anyone in New Mexico who meets eligibility requirements.
The Arrowhead Center SBIR Accelerator provides a guided, structured track of support, from registration to submission. Throughout the 12-week program, participants will receive guidance on preparing and submitting a project pitch, creating actionable letters of support, and creating a complete proposal package that adheres to NSF requirements. Each week focuses on an aspect of proposal package development, and the accelerator will culminate with a proposal ready for submission.
Accelerator applications are due on April 30, 2021, and participants will begin the program on May 7. Learn more here.
