Technology ready for commercialization and other opportunities will be highlighted at the 2026 Innovate New Mexico Technology Showcase, an annual event taking place on Tuesday, March 3, in Albuquerque. Participants can explore emerging technology and commercialization opportunities from The University of New Mexico, the Air Force Research Lab, Los Alamos National Lab, Sandia National Labs, NASA, New Mexico Tech, and New Mexico State University.
Innovate New Mexico brings together all the key players driving innovation in New Mexico, including entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, startup founders, and the business community. Economic development resource providers will also be on hand.
This year’s event will be held in the Lobo Rainforest Building, a hub of activity and collaboration located in the heart of the innovation district in downtown Albuquerque. The building is home to UNM Rainforest Innovations, Sandia National Labs’ C3 office, and various business consulting organizations.
Linda Griego, entrepreneur and member of the UNM Rainforest Innovations board of directors, will give the keynote address. Griego is a nationally recognized civic entrepreneur, corporate director and philanthropy trustee whose leadership is rooted in her upbringing in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Raised in a working-class family of bakers and railroad workers, she brings a practical, opportunity-driven approach to economic revitalization.
Griego currently serves on the board of UNM Rainforest Innovations and is leading the renovation of the historic First Baptist Church at Central & Broadway to support innovation and community use. She redeveloped a historic firehouse into Engine Co. No. 28 restaurant and offices in downtown Los Angeles. As Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles in charge of economic development, she was instrumental in streamlining the building permit process. She later served as CEO of Rebuild LA following the 1992 riots leading the recovery efforts. Her corporate directorships include Paramount/CBS, AECOM, Granite Construction, Southwest Water; and she also served as a Los Angeles director of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
The program begins at 8:30 am. Register here.
Los Alamos National Laboratory has spearheaded or participated in Innovate New Mexico events for years. The event has historically highlighted the lab’s emerging technologies that are being commercialized or are available for commercialization.
