Scale Up NM is offering a free business support program to New Mexico tech startups called the Capital Raise Sprint. This 6-week virtual accelerator is designed to help early-stage entrepreneurs understand how to fund their growth through financial tools that include angel investors and venture capital investors.
The program includes engaging virtual sessions, one-on-one mentorship, and expert guidance from experienced founders, investors, and capital strategists. It’s a chance to build investor-ready skills and materials—all from the comfort of your home or office.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of how venture capital works and what investors are looking for. Weekly one-on-one meetings with startup experts provide tailored support, including personalized feedback on pitch decks, outreach strategies, and fundraising goals. Participants will gain access to a network of advisors, angel investors, and venture capitalists.
The Sprint program is part of Scale Up NM at the University of New Mexico Arrowhead Center. Scale UP NM provides a comprehensive suite of support programs for startups in the early stages of development, including TechSprints, startup accelerators, assistance with SBIR/STTR, pitch competitions, financing boot camps, events, and support for commercialization. The goal is to create more successful New Mexico tech-based startups and generate more local, high-paying jobs.
This TechSprint is part of the BizSprint program, which focuses on the special needs of targeted industries or entrepreneurs. Industries that have been targeted include energy, agriculture, health, technology, and more. Other Sprints target demographics such as women-owned, Native American-owned, or businesses located in a specific region. Some BizSprints are five or six weeks long, while others provide guidance for several months. All graduates can obtain follow-on assistance as alumni.
Applications to participate in the Capital Raise Sprint are due by August 8, 2025. The 2025 program runs every Thursday from August 21 to September 25.
