UNM Business Summit Aims to Inspire

Entrepreneurs who missed hearing inspiration from Victor V. Hwang, founder and CEO of Right to Start, last fall in Albuquerque have another chance on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, when Hwang headlines the UNM Business and Economic Summit at the Lobo Rainforest building in Albuquerque.

Previously Vice President of Entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation, Hwang started Right to Start, “a campaign fighting to expand entrepreneurial opportunity for all.” His website states, “Right to Start seeks to level the playing field by lifting the voices of everyday entrepreneurs, grassroots mobilizing and organizing, and engaging with policymakers at all levels.”

Victor Hwang is a good fit for the annual UNM Business and Economic Summit because organizers say the summit’s purpose is to continue a statewide dialogue about ways to grow New Mexico’s economy and innovation ecosystem. The 2025 summit, which highlights “New Mexico as A National Leader in Entrepreneurship,” will convene stakeholders from the state.

The event is free and runs from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A Zoom link is offered to those unable to attend in person, however, registration is required.
