The department’s objective is quality business and job growth that develops the economy of Bernalillo County.<\/p>\n

The network of programs and resources the department taps into includes (partial list):<\/p>\n
\u2022 Increment of One Initiative<\/strong><\/a>, which is geared toward enabling a large number of small businesses to create jobs \u2014 even if it only means by an \u201cincrement of one.\u201d Agencies involved with the Increment of One Initiative include the Hispano Chamber of Commerce, Albuquerque South Valley Business Development Center, and The Loan Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n Mayling Armijo, Economic Development Department director<\/p><\/div>\n \u2022 Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP)<\/strong><\/a>, which funds classroom and on-the-job-training for newly created jobs.<\/p>\n \u2022 Manufacturers Investment Tax Credit<\/strong><\/a>, which extends to qualifying manufacturers a tax credit equal to 5% of the value of qualified equipment imported to New Mexico<\/p>\n![\"Mayling](\"http:\/\/financenewmexico.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Mayling-Armijo-600-304-300x239.jpg\")
